Natural gas pipeline along the coast – The Wilhelmshaven Coast Line
The Wilhelmshaven Coast Line has been designed as an innovative dual pipeline system. One of the two 9 km pipeline legs will feed natural gas into the German gas transmission pipeline network.
The Wilhelmshaven Coast Line for natural gas will run along the coast at Wilhelmshaven alongside the planned Wilhelmshaven Coast Line for hydrogen. Construction is scheduled to start in 2026.

Planning status
The State Office for Mining, Energy, and Geology (LBEG) issued the planning approval decision for the Wilhelmshaven coastal section of the CH4 pipeline in March 2026.
Based on the current status of planning, construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
